- Cruise on the Mekong River
Arriving to Mekong Delta, you will have chance to be wallowed in the motley color of various species living there. No wonder why backpacker love to make a tour to Vietnam, particularly to Mekong Delta.
Tip: hire a bus from Saigon towards My Tho and Can Tho and then book a package tour from there. About booking a tour, I can recommend the travel agent http://www.gialinhtravel.com/.
Do not forget to visit Cai Rang Floating Market. This can be found at six kilometers from Can Tho. You might need to get up early, but it is worth doing so. Buying pineapples, pumpkins, garlic and onions from the locals with the typical Vietnamese hats on their heads make the picture of Vietnam completed.
Beside floating market, there are still plenty of options, including in the town of Vinh Long. This is also a good place if you are interested in homestay tour. We recommend My Hoa Mekong Homestay.
For the ultimate experience, I advise you but to explore the area on your own. With this kind of tour, you need to spend several days in Vietnam. This way you can get to know Vietnam better, much better than, for example, a one-day tour. However, if you want to have a safe travel and avoid overpricing, an organized tour package is recommended.
- Chill out in Hoi An
Thu Bon River
Believe it or not, but Hoi An is an ideal place to relieve stress and have relaxing moment. At least if you know the right spots. The strange thing about this port is that you must pay $ 6 to access the old town. Well,it is not a big amount of money and the result is really sweer.
If you are tired of the hustle city, rent a bike or scooter and head to An Bang Beach and Cua Dai Beach, participate in a cooking class in Tra Que Herb Village, visit the various rice fields or go cruising on the Thu Bon River. Furthermore Cham Island is also really enjoyable to have a day trip.
Moreover, Hoi An is the best place in Asia when it comes to tailored clothing, which attracts hundreds of shopaholic coming here. So, if you’re looking for a shirt, suit or shoes, this is the right place for you.
Anything else? Well, Hoi An has a lot of things that is worthwhile to be explored! With just a few dollars you can enjoy a relaxing foot massage or facial. Unfortunately, massage is not my favourite, but I see many backpackers like it. For a full day to relax and chill out, I advise you to go to Hoi An Spa day.
Finally, if you rent a scooter, then go to the ruins of My Son. They are located in about 40 kilometers away from the southwest of Hoi An. This attraction is recognized by UNESCO World Heritage Site and, despite being largely destroyed by the Americans during the Vietnam War, it is worth watching.
Tip: If you really want to relax, go to the mountain village called Dalat. I have to say that it is not the most beautiful place in Vietnam, but the atmosphere is very chill, laid-back and relaxed. Sure was fun to explore!
Hoi An is described by many travelers as one of the best spots in Vietnam. In addition to the tips above, you can also find good narrow ancient streets, unique architecture and drinking a beer in a non-ordinary café.
